SUBWAY NETWORK VIENNA
Right next to the hotel is the subway station "Zippererstraße".
The Zippererstrasse station of the U3 underground line is right next to our subway hotel. From here an underground train runs into Vienna’s city centre every few minutes. The U3 line is one of Vienna’s main underground lines.
Thanks to convenient access to Vienna’s extensive public transport network, you’ll find it quick and convenient to get to any place in the city, with no traffic jams at all.
All kinds of different tickets are available for Vienna’s public transport network, ranging from a one-way ticket to day or multi-day passes and cards that are valid for 24, 48 or 72 hours (Wien-Karte).
The Zippererstrasse underground station that is right next-door to Simm’s Hotel has another unusual feature: it is the station with the longest escalator in the Vienna network – 53 metres long. The Zippererstrasse is named after Georg Zipperer, who was a landowner from Simmering in the middle of the 19th century.
Trams on line 71 also stop just outside the hotel. From here you can travel either directly to the Vienna Stock Exchange in the first district or to Vienna’s Central Cemetery, which was opened in 1874 and is now something of an insiders’ secret among the tourist attractions of Vienna. Various operators offer guided tours based on different themes. Visitors who are particularly brave take one of the popular night-time tours!
The Vienna Card gives you numerous other discounts together with your public transport pass. Depending on which option you choose, there are more than 210 discounts available at museums, on guided walks, or on the hop-on, hop-off tours run by Big Bus Vienna. Naturally, you can get your Vienna City Card from our Reception desk.
